Walk & Talk - Auberge de Chindonne, Monthey June 2026

For the June Walk and Talk We will be meeting at the at the Auberge de Chindonne. This is the location where we start our walk and end it for a lunch after at their large and festive restaurant terrace for their speciality, authentic American style BBQ! 

The walk:
Will be 5-6k easy walking path across upper pastures and through woods with views of the lower alps and the Valais. Elevation will be minimal. Children are welcome over the age of 5. If there is bad weather announced it will be canceled and you will be notified the day or two before, there is perhaps a possibility to reschedule at a later weekend date.

The Auberge directions:
It is up above Monthey at the right turn from Massongex to route de Chindonne 300, 1871 Les Giettes. Accessible by car on a well groomed road in the summer- there is large car park. A group pickup from Monthey train station will be arranged for those traveling by train.

We will start the walk at 10:30, please be on time or a bit early if possible, its a windy long road but in decent condition. 

The menu at the Auberge for our lunch is extensive and also contains vegetarian, children and Valaisian platters, see link above for a sample and more photos from their site. Dogs are welcome, and there is a nice playground for the children.

Wear/bring good walking shoes, light layers, sun cap, sunscreen, water, sunglasses.
