Getting Democrats Abroad members from throughout Germany together in one place is uniquely motivating, and with critical races taking place at all levels in 2024, this event will be our opportunity to organize our outreach efforts. Please join us to find out what we have planned for 2024, how you can get involved, and contribute your ideas. We will need the input, enthusiasm, and skills of all our members, and hope to see many of you in Essen from January 19-21, 2024.
The Düsseldorf-Ruhr Chapter is hosting our AGM and looks forward to welcoming you in Essen and showing you around this vibrant city. The fundraising dinner will even be held directly at Zeche Zollverein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and we are offering a tour of the site on Sunday.

DAG is currently accepting applications for a new treasurer. As the financial steward of our organization, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth financial operation of DAG, supporting our mission to engage and empower Americans living abroad.
Responsibilities in this role include:
- Completing bank transfers and reimbursements on behalf of DAG.
- Monitoring all DAG financial accounts and reporting any suspicious activity to the Country Chair.
- Holding signature power over DAG’s financial accounts.
- Establishing a budget for each calendar year and presenting it to the DAG ExCom for approval.
- Providing reports on DAG financial accounts to the Country Chair, Vice Chair, and DAG ExCom at regular intervals.
- Corresponding with and maintaining oversight of Chapter Chairs and/or Chapter Treasurers, at least bi-annually, on all financial matters.
- Maintaining official bookkeeping.
- Advising Events and Fundraising Coordinator on applicable fundraising rules under U.S. and German law.
- Attending monthly DAG ExCom meetings.
Qualifications:
- Financial acumen and budgeting experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Commitment to Democratic principles.
- Detail-oriented and proactive attitude.
- Availability for monthly meetings.

GET TRAINED TO HELP VOTERS ABROAD!
Starting in January 2024, we’ll be calling all Democrats Abroad members in Germany to offer them voter assistance. We will need all the help we can get!
Democrats Abroad is offering its members training to allow them to help others from the comfort of their own laptops, at whatever time works for them. Join us to get (re-)introduced to Intercom, our platform for fielding voters’ and other questions or for phonebanking training.

SIGN THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE PETITIONS
Anticipation is building, and the countdown has begun! The Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary (GPP) is scheduled for March 5 to March 12, 2024, at voting centers across the globe. As Democrats Abroad members, this is your opportunity to help choose the next Democratic presidential candidate. Whether you are drawn to one candidate or intrigued by all three, there is no limit to the number of petitions you can sign.
Presidential candidates vying for your support must meet specific criteria, one of which is submitting a petition signed by a minimum of 300 Democrats Abroad members.
